Neil Mawson

Gasp! That’s what we all did when we saw our mate Neil take a pearler on the “Committed To Grit” DVD. Known to the G-Team as the “Awesome Mawson” Neil doesn’t normally make it his business to travel the wrong way down a route but when you’re climbing E9, it’s bound to happen occasionally. Neil’s climbing career began at the spotty age of 14 and led to becoming a member of the British climbing team. He then moved to Sheffield and used such Peak classics as Masters Edge (E7 6c) & Gaia (E8 6c) as warm ups to a Pembroke super crank involving the second ascent of Monks Satanic Verses (E8 6c) and actually downgrading Chupacabra from E9 6c to a mere E8 6c. Last year he notched up a mere three 8b's in one week and topped that with a Spanish double 8c Tufa-thon in 2010. Neil effortlessly combines his honed rock skills with being one of the nicest guys you could possibly meet.

Ricky Bell

Ricky eats E8 for breakfast and anyone who has watched “Underdeveloped” will already have seen his impossibly large forearms bearing testament to this! He also appears to have real life Zero-Gravity as spotting a hold on the rock face that he is attached to has become a regular competition in the Mountain Works office! Born and bred in Belfast Ricky started climbing in the Mourne Mountains when he was ten before heading off around the world in a quest for yet more rock that happened to be warmer and drier than his homeland. If you find yourself at any of the fantastic crags in Northern Ireland and have the rare opportunity to bump into another climber (yes-it really is that quiet!) be sure to say “Hi” because if it happens to be Ricky then you are in for a GREAT time. "Peace out!"
